We use the platform

of a working ranch to

create compassionate community

Veterans share a powerful bond. A shared experience of sacrifice that touches every aspect of life, from the physical to the social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive.

At the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch (COVR), we honor those sacrifices and the freedoms they’ve secured for all of us. Our innovative approach centers on building a supportive, strengths-based community where veterans can connect across generations and backgrounds. Here, they experience real camaraderie, reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Every day, COVR helps veterans rediscover a sense of belonging and purpose—key defenses against the ongoing crisis of veteran suicide, which claims 17 lives daily in the U.S. (US Department of Veterans Affairs, 2022). With us, veterans build friendships, find mutual support, and contribute to a meaningful new mission.

Drawing veterans from across Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook Counties, our programs offer a non-stigmatizing environment rooted in agriculture and shared work. These experiences reignite a sense of trust, connection, and purpose often lost after service—creating a lasting foundation for growth, resilience, and community.

Our Mission

Central Oregon Veterans Ranch helps veterans develop their inner strength and find purpose by providing camaraderie and access to nature on our working ranch

Our Vision

We envision Central Oregon Veterans Ranch as a premier model for nature-based veteran development and compassionate community engagement

Our History

Incorporated in 2014, the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch has been integral in positively impacting the veteran community of Deschutes County and beyond.

Our 19-acre property has become a sanctuary for veterans seeking support with PTSD, suicide prevention, vocational training, and more.

Started by a movement to change how we view veteran healthcare, to expanding into agritherapy, COVR continues to evolve and grow to meet the needs of those who chose to serve.
